Materuni is a village on the lower slopes of Kilimanjaro above Moshi. From the village a footpath leads through farmland to the waterfall, and local families show visitors how coffee is grown, roasted and ground by hand. After lunch the day ends at Chemka Hot Springs, a clear spring-fed pool in the lowlands where you can swim.
The rate covers a 4WD with a pop-up roof, a driver-guide, bottled water, a local lunch and government tax. Entrance fees for the waterfall, the coffee tour and Chemka are not listed in the rate, so we confirm them with you before you pay.
